POST-KATRINA/RITA ANIMAL RESCUE VIRTUAL HONOR ROLL

As is now well known, animal rescue efforts following the catastrophic effects of Hurricanes Katrina & Rita on the Louisiana & Mississippi Gulf Coast reached a level unprecedented in the history of the world.

COLAA cannot sufficiently thank and salute the thousands of volunteers who gave so selflessly of their time and effort--often at considerable personal risk and always at enormous personal discomfort and expense-- to rescue, transport, house, & feed animals as well as return them to their original human companions when these could be found.

We can, however, attempt to record the names of those volunteers known to us and create web links to evidence of their contributions when this becomes known to us.

We therefore invite  any charitable organization organized in the post Katrina/Rita animal rescue efforts to submit names to the COLAA webmaster for entry to this webpage, including with these names any web-based documentation to which they would like the name linked.  Please note that this page is a work-in-progress and should in no way be considered an exhaustive list of the tens of thousands of people who participated whole-heartedly in animal rescue and care after these two terrible storms.
