You and/or your humane organization can help COLAA by:

PARTICIPATING in COLAA's work as an active member.
SUPPORTING COLAA's work by simply becoming a dues-paying member.
LENDING COLAA your professional expertise relevant to a particular issue or goal.
USING your political influence to help us pass urgently needed state, local or federal animal protection legislation.

Write a Letter or Sign a Petition

Thank you for your interest in strengthening Louisiana's dogfighting law. Thanks to calls and emails from advocates like you, H.B. 286 passed the Louisiana legislature and was recently signed into Law by Governor Jindal (ACT 14).

Louisiana: Crack Down on Puppy Mills

Puppy mills are breeding facilities that mass-produce puppies for sale in pet stores, over the Internet, and directly to the public. The conditions at these facilities are overcrowded and cruel. Fortunately, legislation has been introduced (H.B. 1193) to help crack down on puppy mills in Louisiana by putting a cap on the number of dogs they can keep.

Thanks to calls and emails from Louisiana animal advocates, HB 1193 legislation to limit the size of puppy mills has passed the Louisiana state legislature!
